This elementary school is specialized in the teaching of music both for the students and the community. Indeed, a section entirely dedicated to music including privates practice rooms, music classes, a recording studio and multipurpose areas have been integrated to the design.
Silence
[Sahy-Lhuns]
The absence of sound over an interval of time or a void between two elements.
The shape of the school was inspired by the idea of “silence” in music. The word silence can also be defined by a void between two elements, this is why the project took shape mainly by working with emptiness and negative space. The idea is to remove material in order to create various types of interior courtyards and open spaces representing “silences”.
