Promoting the values of sharing and visiting
Translating key elements from the igloo into the house designs
Rooms designed according to the practices
A same space can host many activities such as cooking, gathering, sewing and cutting meat. The different sections of the house are very flexible and open in order to accommodate the family’s needs as much as possible. The house has free space to sit or cook on the floor. It also has a fire place, a freezer and a large sink to help with day to day activities.
Taking into account the numerous climatic and constructive constraints
The project offers an in-depth reflection on construction using prefabricated elements in order to optimize the transport of the materials. The dimensions of the house were designed so the pieces could fit into a container. An entire home, including the built-in furniture, can fit in 4 containers. Construction with prefabricated element also reduces the construction time and transport costs.
